Parental Filter chosen to take part in the European Safer Internet Plus Programme project
Only 30 software of the European Union are selected every year to take part in this program
Profil Technology, creator of the Parental Filter software, number 1 in Filtra test and recommended as the most effective solution available in the market to proctect young Internet users, confirms its selection in the European Safer Internet Plus Programme (SIP), to take part in the benchmark study that will be conducted throughout 2008.
The aim of this project is to evaluate the reliability of programs that can be installed in households or in schools to filter inappropriate content as part of a coherent approach by the European Union. The panel includes the best software programs that promote a safer Internet and offer solutions to protect minors from Internet threats. It aims to inform parents and educators in this approach, providing guidance to software vendors and service providers in this field.
Only 30 software are selected each year in the European Union to take part in this program, according to very strict requirements: supported browsers, number of filtered protocols and applications (instant messengers, e-mails, newsgroups…), available languages, availability of support and maintenance services in Europe. Additional criteria are also considered, such as the reputation of the product, the company's going concern, strategic investments and future development projects.
"We are fully aware that the Internet is full of potential threats for our children and that we cannot supervise them all the time." With this in mind, Parental Filter was selected by a team of European experts to provide a comprehensive response to parents' and schools' concens," explained Franck Chartier, Editions Profil's Marketing Manager. He added: "By joining the Safer Internet Plus Programme, as well as the Industry Reference Group as a specialist, we want to use our expertise to promote the security of young Internet users."
Parental Filter is available in 6 languages as a download and in retail stores at the recommended price of €39.95 (including taxes), with a license for 2 personal computers. It is also available as a volume license version and as an OEM version (pack of 5, 50 or 100 CDs), including for schools.
